How to Flash Your MQB 2.0T

Preparation:

• Ensure your car is parked in a safe and secure location.
• Confirm that the car battery is in good condition. If there's any doubt, fully charge the battery before proceeding.

 

Connect SL1 Dongle:

• Locate the OBD2 port in your car. This is usually found under the dashboard, near the steering column.
• Plug in the SL1 dongle securely into the OBD2 port.

 

File Download:

• On your Android device, access the email or message from our tuners containing the software file.
• Download the file onto your Android device. Make sure the download is complete and the file is saved in an easily accessible location.

 

Android Device and Car Battery Precautions:

• Connect your Android device to a charger, or ensure it is fully charged (100% battery).
• Hook up your car to a battery tender. This is crucial as the flashing process takes 20-30 minutes and can drain the car's battery.

 

Initiate Flashing Process:

• Open the 'SimosTool' app on your Android device.
• In the app, select the 'Flash' option.
• If this is the first time you are flashing this car, choose the 'Unlock Vehicle' option. This step is essential for first-time flashing.

 

Follow App Instructions:

• Carefully read and follow the instructions provided in the SimosTool app. Each step must be completed as directed.
• Do not interrupt the process or disconnect any cables once the flashing has begun.

 

Completion:

• Once the app indicates that the flashing process is complete, the car's ECU should now be successfully flashed with the new software.

 

Post-Flashing Steps:

• Remove the battery tender from the car.
• Start the car to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
